Do you love wine? Well, this grape in his cluster does not, understandably so. Inspired in part by the old I Love Lucy grape-stomping scene, this artwork was lovingly created with acrylic paints.
The main grape character is trying to save his skin by flying a custom "Don't Tread on Me" Gadsen* flag (hidden you will see grape leaves in the design.)
*The Gadsen flag was designed during the American Revolution. In the artist's mind, it represents the rejection of tyranny and dictatorship, it was chosen to bring humor in conjunction with how grapes are sometimes stomped to produce wine. This artwork is not a political statement, but a statement about what it is like to be a grape.
